Odisha CM unveils new ERSS vehicles for enhanced emergency services

Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: The Cuttack-Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police has received 30 new Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) vehicles aimed at enhancing emergency response capabilities in the Twin City.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi formally presented the vehicles to the Commissionerate Police during a ceremony on Thursday. These ERSS vehicles will operate in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, serving as a part of the police's initiative to improve emergency services, including primary medical assistance, ambulance support, and fire services.
The emergency response system will work in conjunction with the 'Dial 112' service, providing both initial and follow-up assistance during medical and fire emergencies.
The new fleet is outfitted with advanced tools and infrastructure, including oxygen tanks, stretchers, life-support systems, and first-aid kits, enabling police officers to offer immediate healthcare assistance during accidents. Furthermore, the vehicles are equipped with fire suppression systems, ladders, ropes, and life jackets for rescue operations in emergencies. They also feature location-tracking technology to ensure quick response times.
During the event, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of having a specialized fleet of first responders to effectively manage security challenges in the state.
