Odisha CM, deputies meet President in Delhi, discuss state priorities
Bhubaneswar, June 27: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by Deputy CMs KV Singhdeo and Pravati Parida, visited President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed various state-related matters and extended an invitation to President Murmu to attend the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath in Puri. President Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha for a three-day trip and participate in the annual event on July 7, marking her first visit to the state since assuming office.
The visit to Delhi follows an invitation from the Prime Minister's Office, with Majhi, Singhdeo, and Parida also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, and Dharmendra Pradhan later in the day. A meeting with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is also planned for 7 pm.
This trip marks Chief Minister Majhi's first visit to Delhi since taking office as the head of Odisha's first BJP government on June 12. The delegation will also meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and Union Health Minister JP Nadda during their stay in the national capital until June 29.
