Odisha DGP clarifies IPS officer's return to duty following leave

Bhubaneswar, June 28: In response to a query from the Odisha Home Department regarding the leave status of IPS officer Ashish Kumar Singh, Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Kumar Sarangi clarified today that Singh resumed duty on June 3 after completing his sanctioned leave period.
"The government had approved Ashish Kumar Singh's leave from May 4 to June 2. He reported back to duty on June 3 following the conclusion of his leave. He is currently assigned to the Intelligence Directorate, and his rejoining details would typically be communicated from there to our office as part of standard procedure," the DGP stated in response to queries from reporters about the Home Department's letter.
The DGP also noted that Singh has participated in various meetings, including one on June 17 focused on new developments in criminal law.
Earlier, the Home Department had written to the DGP seeking information regarding Ashish Singh's leave status.
