ATC Annual Day and Autism awareness celebrated with enthusiasm in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: The Annual Day Function of the Autism Therapy Centre (ATC), Bhubaneswar, was celebrated today alongside Autism Awareness Day at the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) Auditorium near Kalinga Hospital Square. The event was marked by a blend of reverence and joy, drawing participation from autistic children, their families, and several distinguished dignitaries.
Dr. (Prof.) Manas Ranjan Sahoo, Vice-Chancellor of OUHS University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the start of the celebrations.
In her Annual Report, Swarnalata Mishra, Chairman of MAN Trust, highlighted the centre’s key activities, including the Annual Sports Meet, observance of national and religious events, and Bano Mahotsava. These initiatives reflect ATC’s dedication to fostering inclusivity and community engagement.
Awards were presented to winners of various competitions held to promote autism awareness. Notably, the debate competition on the theme "Autism: Disease, Disability, or Different Ability" sparked meaningful discussions about societal perceptions of autism. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the “ATC Champion-2024” award to Gautam Panda (CHINU) for his outstanding achievements.
The event was presided over by Madan Mohan Panda, Trustee of MAN Trust, with Prof. (Dr.) Ranjan Kumar Bal, Vice-Chancellor of ASBM University, delivering the vote of thanks.
A cultural program by autistic children captivated the audience, showcasing their creativity and talent. The celebrations concluded with a community lunch, leaving participants and guests with cherished memories of a day dedicated to raising awareness and fostering inclusivity.
