Odisha begins major recruitment drive with appointment letters issued to 476 new employees

Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed appointment letters to 476 new officers and employees from various departments at the Lok Sewa Bhawan Convention Centre today. This distribution was part of a job fair organized by the General Administration and Public Grievances Department.
In his address, Chief Minister Majhi congratulated the newly appointed personnel, emphasizing that the first day of employment is a significant and joyous milestone. He reminded them that their new roles extend beyond mere jobs; they represent a substantial responsibility to serve the public. He highlighted that in a democracy, the government symbolizes the people's trust, and it is the duty of government employees to address and resolve public issues and ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every individual, especially those at the grassroots level.
The Chief Minister noted that the previous administration had fallen short in filling government positions and creating self-employment opportunities. In contrast, the new government has committed to filling 150,000 government posts over the next five years and initiating measures to create 350,000 industrial sector jobs. This job fair marked the beginning of this effort, with all selection processes to be merit-based.
He urged the new recruits to exhibit dutifulness, punctuality, and integrity in their roles and to prioritize addressing public grievances to contribute to the state's development.
Today's appointments included 82 individuals in the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department, 39 in the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department, 24 in the Higher Education Department, 231 in the Health and Family Welfare Department, 5 in the Information and Public Relations Department, 61 in the Planning & Convergence Department, and 34 in the ST & SC Development Department.
