Odisha Crime Branch intensifies fresh probe into Naba Das murder

Bhubaneswar, March 19: The Odisha Crime Branch has intensified its fresh investigation into the high-profile murder of former Health Minister and senior BJD leader Naba Kishore Das, who was shot dead in broad daylight more than two years ago.
As part of the probe, a Crime Branch team visited the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and Veer Surendra Sai Airport on Wednesday to gather crucial details regarding the events that unfolded after the attack on January 29, 2023, in Brajarajnagar.
Sources revealed that investigators are focusing on the sequence of events leading to Naba Das’s airlift to Bhubaneswar, including timing, medical interventions, and those involved in the process. The team also questioned two doctors who treated the minister after the shooting.
Additionally, a two-member Crime Branch team recorded the statements of Naba Das’s daughter, Dipali Das, and son, Bishal Das, spending over seven hours at their residence in Sarabahal, Jharsuguda.
Authorities are expected to further examine key witnesses and forensic evidence as the probe continues.
