Commissionerate Police seeks additional remand for con woman Hansita Abhilipsa

Bhubaneswar, Jan 24: The Commissionerate Police is preparing to file a request in court for an additional remand of high-profile con artist Hansita Abhilipsa and her associate Anil Mohanty, who are currently incarcerated for allegedly defrauding affluent businessmen and mine operators in Odisha.
Sources indicate that the police intend to seek a five-day remand for both Hansita and Anil, with the application set to be submitted to the JMFC court in Bhubaneswar. During the investigation, the Special Crime Unit uncovered evidence linking Hansita to a sex racket and the trafficking of women. The duo had previously been taken into custody, during which significant information was obtained.
The investigating team aims to collect further details regarding their suspected involvement in human trafficking. Twin City Police Commissioner S. Deba Datta Singh confirmed the intent to seek an extension of their remand for continued interrogation.
Hansita and Anil were arrested by Bhubaneswar police on December 31 for allegedly siphoning off funds while posing as the daughter and son-in-law of PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. They now face allegations of trafficking young women to influential individuals, including businessmen, politicians, and bureaucrats, and are accused of disseminating obscene material through electronic devices.
