Four hurt in Bhubaneswar Mo Bus collision

Bhubaneswar, Jan 23: At least four people were injured, and several vehicles were damaged in a series of accidents involving a Mo Bus near Raj Mahal Square in Bhubaneswar on Thursday morning. The incident reportedly occurred when a Mo Bus collided with an electric Mo Bus in the Raj Mahal Square-Master Canteen area.

The injured individuals were immediately taken to the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment. According to sources, the accident happened when the electric Mo Bus, traveling on the Master Canteen-Raj Mahal Square route, suddenly applied brakes. This led to a non-AC Mo Bus on Route 26 crashing into it from behind.

The impact caused three cars following the Route 26 Mo Bus to collide with each other, resulting in additional injuries to passengers in the buses and cars. The chaotic situation caused tension in the area, with traffic disrupted for about 30 minutes. A police team arrived at the scene to control the situation and restore order.

Local residents alleged that the electric Mo Bus was speeding recklessly and stopped abruptly on the busy road. They raised concerns about the driver's competence and speculated whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The incident sparked outrage among locals, who pointed out the recurring accidents involving public transport vehicles in Bhubaneswar. They demanded strict action against the driver of the electric Mo Bus and called for long-term measures to prevent such mishaps. Some even staged a demonstration at the site, urging authorities to address the issue urgently.
