Odisha Government encourages women outside state to apply for Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: The Odisha government has called on women residing outside the state to take advantage of the Subhadra Yojana. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that the fourth phase of the first installment of funds will be released soon, encouraging eligible women living away from Odisha to apply promptly.

Parida highlighted that many women currently outside the state have yet to register for the scheme. “We are committed to ensuring these women receive the financial support provided by the program, and I urge them to submit their applications as soon as possible,” she stated in a press briefing.

The Deputy Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of updating Know Your Customer (KYC) details, noting that over 200,000 beneficiaries still need to complete this process. She stressed that it is crucial for all applicants to finalize their KYC updates before the launch of the fourth phase, expected in late January 2025.

With the disbursement of funds in the fourth phase, more than 2 million women are anticipated to receive financial aid. The specific date for this release will be confirmed after assessing the number of applicants.

Additionally, the Odisha cabinet has set March 31, 2025, as the deadline for registration to benefit from the Subhadra Yojana for the 2024-25 financial year. Financial assistance under the scheme will be distributed twice a year, coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8 and Raksha Bandhan in August.
