Odisha students return home safely from J&K amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions

Bhubaneswar, May 10: Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan and a war-like situation in Jammu and Kashmir, several students from Odisha studying in the region have safely returned home. The Odisha government, acting swiftly on the evolving situation, directed the Commerce and Transport Department to assist and facilitate the safe return of the students.
In a coordinated effort, four students arrived at Bhadrak Railway Station and were promptly assisted in reaching their respective hometowns with the support of local administration. Similarly, three students studying at the Central Sanskrit University in Jammu were safely transported to Balasore, where arrangements were made for their further journey.
Another group of five students reached the Jajpur-Keonjhar Road Railway Station, from where they were guided and sent to their home districts. These students were initially relocated to New Delhi from Jammu with the help of authorities before being sent back to Odisha.
The state government had initiated the evacuation process after reports of escalating conflict in the region, including a Pakistani drone strike near the university campus on Thursday night. Following the incident, the university administration advised students to vacate the premises immediately. The Odisha government continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure student safety.
