Man sustains bullet injuries in firing incident at Bhubaneswar bar

Bhubaneswar, May 10: A man sustained bullet injuries in a shocking incident of gunfire at a bar near Damana Square in Bhubaneswar late Saturday night. The incident has sparked concern among residents over the growing trend of violent altercations in public spaces.

According to eyewitness accounts and preliminary reports, a heated argument broke out between two groups of patrons inside the bar. As the situation escalated, several unidentified individuals reportedly pulled out firearms and opened fire amidst the chaos. One man was hit by a bullet and collapsed on the spot, while the attackers quickly fled the scene, triggering panic among other customers.

The injured individual was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be stable, but he remains under close medical observation.

Soon after receiving information, a team from the Chandrasekharpur police station arrived at the scene. Officers cordoned off the area and recovered a spent cartridge, indicating the use of a firearm. A formal investigation has been launched, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved. Authorities are also examining CCTV footage from the bar and nearby areas for leads.
