JP Nadda compares BJP's ethics with Congress politics during Odisha visit

Bhubaneswar, Sept 26: BJP National President J.P. Nadda criticized the Congress party during the BJP's Membership Campaign event on Thursday, labeling it a "representative of communal nationalism." Upon his arrival in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Nadda paid homage to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar at AG Square, noting on X (formerly Twitter), “I paid floral tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, in Bhubaneswar. His steadfast commitment to social justice and the empowerment of marginalized communities inspires our quest for equality.”
Following the tribute, Nadda participated in the Membership Campaign program, where he congratulated new members and contrasted the work ethics of the BJP with the political practices of the Congress. He remarked, “You won’t see a National Party President, Chief Minister, and state unit President sharing a stage for a membership event in parties like Congress.” Nadda shared the platform with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and state unit President Manmohan Samal.
He emphasized that in the BJP, leadership is not a hereditary right, stating, “Here, sons of leaders do not automatically become leaders.” Nadda further criticized the Congress regarding Article 370, asserting, “Congress is the representative of communal nationalism” and accusing it of colluding with Pakistan to reinstate the article.
Highlighting recent political developments, he noted that the residents of Jammu and Kashmir are voting in assembly elections for the first time since the revocation of Article 370. He also discussed the Supreme Court's decision to abolish the 'Triple Talaq' practice, defending the ruling by stating, “Countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Iraq do not have a triple talaq system.” He added, “In India, women were deprived of their rights through triple talaq, but with its abolition, minority women have regained their rights.”
