Matric answer sheet evaluation begins in Odisha amid tight security

Bhubaneswar, March 19: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, commenced the evaluation of matriculation examination answer sheets on Wednesday under strict security measures to ensure a smooth and fair process.

According to official sources, the BSE has implemented stringent guidelines to prevent malpractices, warning that strict action will be taken against anyone found engaging in unfair means.

As per the schedule, the evaluation process runs daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, with teachers, instructors, and staff prohibited from leaving the premises during working hours. Additionally, mobile phones are strictly banned to maintain confidentiality and prevent any misconduct.

The BSE has deployed 11,800 teachers for evaluation across multiple centers, all of which are under CCTV surveillance to monitor proceedings closely. To further strengthen security, each evaluation center has been assigned a camp officer, chief observer, two deputy observers, and two supervisors to oversee the process.

Additionally, over 300 data entry operators have been engaged to upload marks online daily to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Notably, 5,22,336 students registered for the matriculation examination this year, though over 15,000 students were absent. The BSE aims to complete the evaluation within the stipulated time frame.
