J P Nadda to lead Odisha state meet amidst strategic review

Bhubaneswar, July 16: BJP National President J P Nadda is set to attend the Odisha BJP's state executive committee meeting scheduled for July 19 and 20 in Puri, according to state unit president Manmohan Samal. Originally, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was slated to participate, but due to health reasons, Nadda will now lead the event on July 19.
State BJP Vice President Biranchi Tripathy outlined that the meeting will include coordinators for Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, district presidents, various morcha officials, the Chief Minister, and all elected representatives from the party. Discussions will cover political strategies, welfare initiatives, and planning future actions aimed at advancing Odisha's development.
This gathering marks the BJP's first state executive committee meeting since forming its inaugural government in Odisha and achieving a dominant victory in the Lok Sabha elections, securing 20 out of 21 seats. While specific agenda items have not been publicly disclosed, the meeting is expected to review Assembly constituencies where the BJP narrowly lost, amidst criticisms of candidate selection and alleged ticket sales in certain areas.
Sources within the BJP suggest that three resolutions are likely to be passed during the meeting. The first resolution will express gratitude to the people of Odisha for their trust in electing the BJP to govern, and for supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's return to power for a third consecutive term. The second resolution will acknowledge Modi's extensive campaign efforts in Odisha, which significantly contributed to the BJP's electoral success. Lastly, the party is expected to congratulate Modi on his historic third-term victory and the formation of the government at the Centre.
