Violence erupts in Bhubaneswar as youths hurl bombs in revenge attack

Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: A violent incident erupted in the Odisha capital on Friday night as a group of individuals launched a bomb attack fueled by previous animosities, creating widespread fear among local residents. The attack occurred near the Shaheed Nagar Winners’ Association, resulting in damage to a car and a motorcycle.
According to preliminary information, the chaos began around 11 PM when approximately 30 to 40 youths arrived on motorbikes and began throwing bombs in the vicinity. Witnesses reported that the attackers also shouted abusive language and made death threats. This alarming scene was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
It appears that the assailants sought revenge after a dispute with local youths the night before. Eyewitnesses recounted the suddenness of the attack, with one stating, “They came out of nowhere, throwing bombs and wielding swords and sharp weapons, destroying parked vehicles and even setting one on fire.”
The Shaheed Nagar police responded quickly to the incident and initiated an investigation, aiming to identify the perpetrators using the footage recorded by the CCTV cameras.
