Odisha to disburse third phase of Subhadra Yojana funds by November end

Bhubaneswar, Nov 2: The Odisha government has announced plans to release funds for the third phase of the first installment under the Subhadra Yojana by the end of November. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed the media on Saturday that the funds would be directly credited to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.

Additionally, Parida mentioned that a fourth phase of disbursement is also planned, aiming to provide financial assistance to approximately 1.20 crore women beneficiaries by the end of December.

Regarding the inclusion of Anganwadi workers, Parida confirmed that those previously excluded would receive aid in this upcoming phase. Following a high-level committee meeting, she revealed that about 2.67 lakh applications from women beneficiaries had been rejected for various reasons. A three-member committee, consisting of the Block Development Officer (BDO), Tehsildar, and District Social Welfare Officers (DSWs), will reassess the details of these rejected applications, ensuring that eligible candidates receive their funds.

Parida also highlighted complaints about government job holders receiving benefits from the scheme and stated that the government is investigating these allegations to take appropriate action. Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Subhadra Yojana on his birthday during a visit to Odisha on September 17. Under this initiative, eligible beneficiaries aged 21 to 60 will receive Rs 50,000 in total, disbursed in ten installments of Rs 5,000 each over five years.
