New guidelines to tackle application rejections under Odisha's Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: The Odisha government is in the process of developing new guidelines for the Subhadra Yojana to ensure that all eligible women can benefit from the scheme. These fresh guidelines aim to tackle the issue of numerous applications being rejected for various reasons.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that a high-level meeting will convene on Friday afternoon to discuss the matter. This meeting will review a list of 2.67 lakh rejected applications and determine how to effectively scrutinize and verify them, with the goal of including those whose applications were turned down in the scheme.

Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister indicated that the first installment of the third phase of Subhadra Yojana funds will be released soon. While the exact date is yet to be finalized, all beneficiaries who missed out in the first two phases are set to receive Rs 5,000 in this installment. To date, around 60 lakh women have benefited from the scheme, each receiving Rs 5,000 in the initial phases.

The Subhadra Yojana, aimed at women's empowerment, was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17. In the first phase, approximately 25 lakh women received financial assistance, with additional beneficiaries supported during the second phase on October 9.
