Odisha’s temperature expected to rise gradually

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: After a sharp decline in temperatures over the past few days, Odisha is likely to experience a gradual rise in temperatures again, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The department issued a forecast on Monday indicating that the minimum (night) temperature across the state is expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next two days, with no significant changes thereafter.

Reports suggest that temperatures have already started rising since Sunday in various parts of the state. In Rourkela, the night temperature climbed to 9.6°C in the last 24 hours after dropping to 8.8°C the previous night. Similarly, G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest temperature in Odisha at 9°C, while Phulbani registered 9.5°C.

Meanwhile, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded night temperatures of 17.9°C and 18°C, respectively.

The IMD has also issued a yellow warning for dense fog in several districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, and Dhenkanal, for the next 24 hours.
