BJP will expose opposition’s falsehoods, says PM Modi in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the Opposition on Friday, accusing them of spreading false narratives against the BJP-led NDA. Speaking in Bhubaneswar to BJP workers, Modi alleged that the Opposition has disregarded democratic principles and undermined the spirit of the Constitution.
Modi claimed that the Opposition's primary objective is to "seize power by misleading the public." He remarked, "For those who view power as their birthright, being out of power at the Centre for a decade has led them to crush constitutional values and dismiss democratic norms."
Acknowledging the natural occurrence of ideological differences among political parties, Modi emphasized the right to express dissent and engage in protests. However, he expressed concern over what he described as attempts to damage the image of India's democracy and Constitution.
The Prime Minister further alleged that some political parties, frustrated by their prolonged absence from power, are resorting to spreading lies and misinformation. "These parties, angry after being out of power for ten years, are now misleading citizens with baseless rumors and conspiracies against the country and its people," he said.
Modi called on BJP workers and citizens who respect the Constitution to counter such propaganda and expose what he described as "falsehoods." He labeled the spread of misinformation as a significant challenge for India.
Responding to past remarks by the Opposition about the "Chowkidar" slogan, Modi criticized their changing narratives. "These power-hungry individuals resort to lies, and when one lie fails, they create a bigger one. In 2019, they accused the ‘chowkidar’ of being dishonest, but by 2024, they have stopped those allegations, trying instead to deceive the public with new tactics," he said.
Modi urged vigilance against what he described as the Opposition's attempts to mislead the nation in their pursuit of power.
