Woman succumbs to injuries after bull attack in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: In a tragic incident, a woman lost her life on Monday after being attacked by a stray bull in the Mancheswar area of Bhubaneswar. The incident occurred in the Barimunda locality under the jurisdiction of the Mancheswar police station.
According to sources, the victim, identified as Hemalata Das, was severely injured when a bull attacked her on Sunday. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite the doctors' efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on Monday morning.
Residents of the area expressed their outrage, blaming the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) for failing to address the growing menace of stray bulls. Locals claimed that they had repeatedly demanded a permanent solution to the problem, but their concerns were ignored.
Following her death, angry locals staged protests, blocking roads and demanding immediate action from authorities. They have also urged the administration to provide adequate compensation to the victim’s family.
Notably, this is not an isolated incident, as at least five people were injured in a bull attack in the area last week.
