Veteran Odia actor Uttam Mohanty’s health stable, under treatment at Medanta

Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Veteran Odia film actor Uttam Mohanty’s health condition remains stable as he continues treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon. The actor, who was in critical condition, was airlifted from Bhubaneswar two days ago for advanced medical care.

Mohanty is reportedly suffering from liver cirrhosis. Before being shifted to Medanta, he was undergoing treatment at KIMS Super Specialty Hospital in Bhubaneswar. His hospitalization has deeply concerned his fans and well-wishers, who have been praying for his speedy recovery.

A legendary figure in Odia cinema, Mohanty has starred in over 110 films and appeared in several television serials. Renowned for his versatile acting, he remains the only Odia actor to have won the state government’s Best Actor Award for three consecutive years (1982–1984). In 1999, he was honored with the prestigious Jayadeva Award for his contributions to cinema.

Meanwhile, his admirers and friends gathered at Maa Ambika temple in Mayurbhanj to offer prayers for his well-being, expressing their hopes for his swift recovery and return to good health.
