Suspended Bharatpur IIC to undergo polygraph and other tests in Army officer assault case

Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: In a notable turn of events, Dinakrushna Mishra, the suspended Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of the Bharatpur police station, appeared before the SDJM Court in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday regarding the alleged assault on an Indian Army officer and his fiancée. He agreed to participate in a polygraph test and other assessments as part of the ongoing investigation.

Sources indicate that Mishra will take the polygraph test once the court issues the necessary order. This follows a petition filed by the Crime Branch in the SDJM Court seeking permission for the test to validate the claims against him. Mishra’s agreement to undergo this examination aims to ascertain the credibility of the allegations made.

Additionally, Mishra has also consented to undergo narco-analysis and brain-mapping tests. It is important to mention that he and four other officers from the Bharatpur police station are accused of assaulting and misbehaving with the Army officer and his fiancée when they approached the station to report an incident of road rage. All five officers involved, including Mishra, have been suspended in connection with this case.
