Odisha announces correction process for 5 lakh women deprived of Subhadra Yojana benefits

Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Over 5 lakh women have been excluded from receiving benefits under Odisha's Subhadra Yojana due to issues with the linkage of their mobile numbers, Aadhaar cards, and bank accounts, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida revealed on Wednesday.

She shared that 2.67 lakh women have been rejected due to discrepancies, and these cases have been sent back to the blocks for verification and correction. In total, 5 lakh applications are affected by errors in bank details or Aadhaar/mobile number links.

Parida urged women to link only one bank account with their mobile numbers to avoid complications during the verification process. She assured that those excluded in the third phase on November 24 would receive their first installment of Rs 5,000 after verification. Anganwadi workers will conduct on-the-ground verification in villages. She also mentioned that some women were mistakenly listed as owning land due to records showing five acres, but further investigation into these cases will be carried out.

The Deputy CM also noted that by the end of November, an additional 20 lakh women are expected to receive the first installment, and by the end of December, over 1 crore women will benefit from the first phase of disbursement.
