Job aspirants protest alleged corruption in OSSSC recruitment process
Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: Scores of job aspirants staged a protest on Tuesday, surrounding the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) office in Bhubaneswar. They accused the OSSSC of corruption in the recruitment process for various Group-C positions.
Protesters, holding placards, demanded justice and claimed that candidates who performed poorly in the PEO exams were included in the merit list for the Combined Examination Group-C results. They also raised concerns about the sale of question papers for exams like Forester, Forest Guard, and Livestock Inspector.
One protester stated, "Although OSSSC has declared the results, we still have not received normalized marks, and no investigation has been conducted. We urge the Odisha government to cancel the forester and other exams." They cited a specific case where a candidate who scored just 7 out of 180 in the PEO exam achieved 100 out of 150 in the Forest Guard written exam.
Protesters questioned the fairness of the OSSSC's scoring and criticized the lack of transparency, alleging that officials have not been held accountable despite the change in government. No response has yet been received from OSSSC authorities regarding these allegations.
