SOA scientist honoured with CNR Rao Lecture Award
Bhubaneswar, Dec 12: Prof. Kulamani Parida, a distinguished researcher and Director of the Centre for Nano Science and Nano Technology at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA), has been awarded the prestigious C.N.R. Rao Lecture Award.
This accolade was presented during the 35th Annual General Meeting of the Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) and the 6th Indian Materials Conclave, which took place in Indore from December 3 to 6.
The MRSI’s flagship award recognizes Prof. Parida for his outstanding contributions to the field of materials science. The event was co-hosted by several esteemed institutions, including the UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, IIT Indore, Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya.
In 2024, Stanford University named Prof. Parida among the top 2 percent of scientists globally. His accolades include the Acharya J.C. Ghosh Memorial Award, the MRSI Annual Prize, the Prof. S.K. Bhattacharya Endowment Eminent Scientist Award, the MRSI Medal, and the Pathani Samanta Award from the Odisha government.
Prof. Parida's research primarily focuses on developing innovative materials for clean energy applications, particularly in areas such as photocatalysis, energy conversion and storage, and green chemistry.
