CM Mohan Majhi to inaugurate and launch projects worth ₹1.14 lakh crore in Jajpur on May 22

Bhubaneswar, May 17: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will visit Jajpur on May 22 to lay the foundation stone for 12 major projects and inaugurate four completed ones, Industries Minister Samapad Swain announced on Saturday. The combined value of these projects is estimated at ₹1.14 lakh crore and is expected to generate over 34,000 employment opportunities in the region.

Minister Swain stated that these projects include MoUs signed during the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave, which alone attracted investment commitments of ₹63,000 crore in Jajpur district. “This is a landmark step toward positioning Odisha as a rising industrial powerhouse,” he told reporters.

A significant highlight of the day will be the groundbreaking ceremony of Tata’s ₹61,000 crore mega investment, aimed at boosting industrial infrastructure and employment. Swain added that JSW and Vedanta are also actively pursuing major investments in the state.

Last month, CM Majhi laid the foundation for 13 industrial projects in Khurda, reaffirming the government’s commitment to transforming Odisha into an industrial hub.

This aligns with the CM’s budget speech in February, where he unveiled a robust industrial development strategy focused on mineral-based manufacturing and large-scale investment-driven economic growth.
