Three of a family killed, three injured in horrific road accident in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, May 16: In a tragic road accident, three members of a family lost their lives and three others sustained critical injuries after their car crashed into a roadside tree near Gaudguda Chhak in Baipariguda area of Odisha’s Koraput district on Friday.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred on National Highway 326 under the jurisdiction of Baipariguda police station. The family was reportedly traveling from Nayagarh to Malkangiri when the driver is suspected to have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and slam into a tree with great force.
The impact of the crash was devastating—three persons died on the spot, while the other three suffered severe injuries. Local residents and police quickly responded, rushing the injured to nearby hospitals. One of the critically injured victims was later shifted to Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, while the remaining two are undergoing treatment at Baipariguda Community Health Center.
The police have seized the wrecked vehicle and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the region.
