Woman dies in suspicious fall from OYO hotel in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, May 15: In a tragic and suspicious incident, a young woman identified as Sonali Mahapatra from Nayagarh district died after allegedly falling from the second floor of an OYO hotel in the Jagamara area of Bhubaneswar late last night. The circumstances surrounding her fall remain unclear, raising serious concerns about whether it was an accident, suicide, or an act of foul play.
According to preliminary reports, Sonali had checked into the hotel with her fiancé and was in the room with him when the incident occurred. Soon after the fall, hotel staff alerted the authorities, and the Khandagiri police arrived at the scene to recover her blood-soaked body.
Her fiancé has been taken into custody for questioning, as investigators attempt to uncover the sequence of events that led to her death. The body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
Police are examining CCTV footage, interviewing hotel staff, and exploring all possible angles in the case. The incident has sparked tension in the area and prompted demands for a thorough investigation.
