New city trails in Odisha aim to boost tourism and celebrate local history

Bhubaneswar, Dec 11: The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) is set to launch specially curated city trails under the initiative "Odisha Walks" in Cuttack, Puri, and Sambalpur, with plans for implementation starting in January 2025.
This initiative aims to enhance the appeal of these urban areas as vibrant destinations for both tourism and daily living. According to an official statement from the OTDC, the project will provide an enriched trail experience that showcases the unique history and natural beauty of each city, alongside improvements to the existing infrastructure.
The curated trails will be thematically designed, focusing on the distinct cultural heritage and narratives of Cuttack, Puri, and Sambalpur. The Managing Director of OTDC has called for Expressions of Interest from qualified agencies or bidders to conceptualize and execute these trails, which are expected to operate every weekend during the tourism season until March 2025.
Interested parties are required to submit their proposals by December 16, and while specific locations have been suggested, the chosen agency will have the opportunity to explore and recommend additional sites after consultation with the OTDC.
