Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital shine at ET Now Awards in Kolkata

Bhubaneswar, Feb 3: SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM), a leading multi-super specialty quaternary care hospital in Bhubaneswar, has been recognized as the best corporate hospital in eastern India at the inaugural ET Now Industry Icons-2025 East Chapter awards held in Kolkata on Friday.

The prestigious award was presented to Dr. Swetapadma Dash, CEO of SUMUM, by Rohit Chadha, President and COO of Times Network Digital, during a special ceremony.

Additionally, the Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital-2 in Phulnakhara received the title of the best multi-specialty hospital in Odisha, while IMS and SUM Hospital-3 in Sitalapalli, Berhampur, was awarded as the best emerging multi-specialty hospital in the state. Both facilities are operated by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA).

Moreover, several departments at IMS and SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar, including Cardiology, Oncology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, and Nephrology, were recognized as the best in their respective categories in Odisha.

Awards were received by Prof. (Dr.) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Medical Superintendent of IMS and SUM Hospital, and Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Lenka, Medical Superintendent of IMS and SUM Hospital-2, along with SOA Deemed to be University’s Public Relations Officer, Subhadarshini Mishra.

The event also honored the popular Odia newspaper ‘The Prameya’ as Odisha’s number one vernacular daily, with the award presented to the company’s Group Director (Sales and Marketing), Himanshu Bhushan Hota. The ceremony featured notable personalities, including Sarod player Aman Ali Bangash and Bollywood actors Tara Shah Badusha and Aparshakti Khurana, who presented the awards. Biman Dutta, Assistant Vice-President and Regional Head (East) of Times Network, hosted the event.
