Mamata Mohanta Resigns from Rajya Sabha and BJD
Bhubaneswar, July 31: BJD leader Mamata Mohanta has resigned from her Rajya Sabha seat, a resignation that was accepted by Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday.
Chairman Dhankhar confirmed receiving Mohanta's resignation letter, which was submitted personally. "She has tendered her resignation by writing directly to me, and I find it to be constitutionally in order. Therefore, I have accepted the resignation of Shrimati Mamata Mohanta, who represented the state of Odisha, with immediate effect," Dhankhar announced.
She has also resigned from the primary membership of BJD. Mohanta has sent her resignation to the BHD President Naveen Patnaik.
“I feel that there is no requirement of the services of myself as well as my community in the Biju Janata Dal. Therefore, I have taken this hard decision in public interest,” mentioned her resignation letter.
