SOA and VSI partner to boost semiconductor innovation and start-ups

Bhubaneswar, Aug 19: Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Very Large Scale Integration Society of India (VSI), Bengaluru. This partnership aims to advance innovation, research, start-ups, and job opportunities in the fields of VLSI Design and Semiconductors.

VSI, which comprises over 5,000 semiconductor professionals and volunteers globally, represents the full semiconductor supply chain. The MoU will support SOA in developing a robust pipeline for innovation, research, and talent to meet the current and future demands of India's semiconductor industry.

The agreement was signed by SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda and VSI President Dr. Satya Gupta on Saturday. Under this MoU, VSI will assist SOA in nurturing research and innovation to build a strong start-up ecosystem. This will include providing techno-commercial mentorship, market opportunities, industry connections, and funding support.

Additionally, VSI and SOA will collaborate on research in VLSI Design and Semiconductors, conduct joint workshops and training programs for students and faculty, and offer expert lectures, projects, internships, and mentoring for SOA students at all levels.

The two organizations will also work together to update and enhance the VLSI Design and Semiconductors curriculum at SOA and other institutions, ensuring it aligns with industry needs. VSI will support the implementation of these updated courses.

Furthermore, VSI and SOA will jointly promote awareness about careers in Electronics and Semiconductors among high school students and their parents, aiming to attract more students to these fields.
