Odisha Police arrest four in teacher’s kidnapping linked to cryptocurrency dispute

Bhubaneswar, Feb 13: Karanjia Police successfully rescued a teacher who was abducted three days ago, reportedly due to a dispute linked to cryptocurrency trading. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
The victim, Rabindra Nath Singh, a teacher at Dhuduku Primary School in Jashipur block, was kidnapped on February 10 while returning home from school. The abductors forcibly took him in a car and later transferred him to another vehicle near Kalikapur Chhak on National Highway 220.
When Singh did not reach home, his wife lodged a complaint at Karanjia police station. Acting swiftly, police formed three teams to investigate his disappearance. After an extensive search, they traced and rescued Singh from a forested area in Talcher, Angul district.
The police have arrested four suspects—Saubhagya Das, Brahmananda Naik, Parvathi Kumar Mohanty, and a minor—within Talcher police limits. A mobile phone and a vehicle used in the crime were seized.
Authorities revealed that Singh had allegedly misappropriated ₹15 lakh, which could be a motive behind the abduction. Further investigation is ongoing.
