PM Modi to unveil Rs 3800 crore development projects in Odisha on Sept 17

Bhubaneswar, Sept 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on September 17 to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate development projects totaling over Rs 3,800 crore. Official sources reveal that the Prime Minister will engage with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban at approximately 11:15 am.
Following this, around noon, Modi will officially commence and unveil various development initiatives in Bhubaneswar. Among these are railway projects valued at over Rs 2,800 crore, aimed at enhancing railway infrastructure and boosting regional growth and connectivity. Additionally, he will lay the foundation for National Highway Projects exceeding Rs 1,000 crore during his visit.
A significant highlight of the visit will be the launch of ‘SUBHADRA,’ Odisha's flagship initiative. This major women-centric scheme is set to benefit over one crore women. Eligible women aged 21-60 will receive Rs 50,000 over five years (2024-2025 to 2028-2029), disbursed as Rs 10,000 annually in two equal installments directly to their Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank accounts. On this occasion, Modi will transfer funds to over 10 lakh women.
Moreover, the Prime Minister will release the first installment of support under the PMAY-G for approximately 13 lakh beneficiaries across 14 states. The event will also feature the Griha Pravesh celebrations for 26 lakh beneficiaries of PMAY (Gramin and Urban) nationwide.
