Amit Shah's Odisha visit postponed amid national mourning for Manmohan Singh

Bhubaneswar, Dec 27: Union Home Minister Amit Shah's planned two-day visit to Odisha, set to begin on Saturday, has been postponed in light of the national mourning for the late former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Jajpur MP Rabindra Narayan Behera announced the cancellation of Shah's trip on Friday. The minister was expected to arrive in Bhubaneswar around 10 PM on Saturday and participate in three events, including a national party meeting at the headquarters in New Delhi via video conferencing from Kalinga Stadium on December 29.
Singh, recognized as a key figure in India's economic liberalization during the early 1990s, passed away in Delhi on Thursday at the age of 92 after a prolonged illness.
In response to his passing, the Union Home Ministry has declared a period of seven days of mourning and will hold a state funeral for Singh.
Political leaders from various parties have expressed their condolences and paid tribute to Singh, reflecting on his significant contributions to the country.
