Odisha Govt to include left-out beneficiaries in Subhadra scheme: Deputy CM Pravati Parida

Bhubaneswar, Sept 10: Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida on Wednesday assured that all eligible women who were inadvertently excluded from the Subhadra scheme will soon be covered.

The scheme, introduced to empower women through direct financial assistance, had faced challenges due to technical issues, leaving out several genuine beneficiaries.

After chairing a review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, Parida said, “Many eligible women have been deprived of benefits because of technical reasons such as mismatches in ration card details, incomplete KYC updates, or other documentation errors. The government is working carefully to ensure no deserving woman is left behind.”

To streamline the process, the Women & Child Development Department sought reports from three crucial departments. The Transport Department shared data on women owning four-wheelers, while the Health Department verified records of deceased beneficiaries. Similarly, the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department examined land records to identify women who had sold paddy.

Based on these reports, Parida reviewed measures to include the left-out women in the scheme. She assured that after proper verification, all deprived beneficiaries would be added, ensuring fairness and transparency.
