Odisha CM to embark on five-day Delhi and Rajasthan tour

Bhubaneswar, Dec 18: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to begin a five-day tour to New Delhi and Rajasthan starting Thursday.

According to sources, the Chief Minister will first head to Rajasthan, where he will participate in several significant meetings. One of the key events on his agenda is the 55th GST Council meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Jaisalmer on December 21.

This meeting will address important issues, including the GST framework for life and health insurance, tax rate adjustments, and potential revisions to GST slabs. Prior to this meeting, the Group of Ministers (GoM) on health insurance presented its recommendations to state and central revenue officials on December 16, which will be reviewed by the Council during the Jaisalmer session.

Following his time in Rajasthan, Majhi will travel to New Delhi on December 21, where he is anticipated to engage with Union Ministers and senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to discuss pressing matters concerning Odisha. He is expected to return to Bhubaneswar on December 23.
