Odisha govt issues warning against fraudulent claims in Subhadra Yojana

Bhubaneswar, Dec 17: The Odisha government issued a warning on Tuesday regarding the Subhadra Yojana, stating that action will be taken against those who have wrongfully received funds under the scheme.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida emphasized that the program is designed exclusively for eligible beneficiaries and that individuals who do not meet the eligibility criteria but have nonetheless accessed funds will face consequences. “Anyone found to have received money from the Subhadra Yojana without proper eligibility will be penalized following an inquiry by the department,” she stated.

The Deputy Chief Minister urged ineligible recipients to come forward and acknowledge their situation before the second installment of funds is released. She also encouraged all eligible beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC through biometric verification to receive the benefits of the Subhadra Yojana.

Eligible individuals should consult Anganwadi workers to file any complaints and ensure they receive their entitled benefits. Those who believe they qualify for the scheme but have not received assistance should submit their grievances through Anganwadi workers, who will relay them to the block office for review. The process will remain in place until all eligible beneficiaries receive their due funds.

It’s important to note that the state government has postponed the disbursement of the fourth phase of Subhadra Yojana funds, which was initially set for December 25, due to ongoing verification efforts. The third phase saw the distribution of funds to 20 lakh women beneficiaries on November 24, with over 80 lakh women having benefited from the scheme thus far.
