Odisha to roll out Ayushman Bharat Yojana on April 11

Bhubaneswar, April 10: Odisha is all set to implement the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), which will be launched alongside the state’s own Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) and the Ayushman Vayo-Vandana Yojana on April 11.

The combined scheme, likely to be named Ayushman Bharat-Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-GJAY), will be officially launched by Union Health Minister J P Nadda at a grand public event at Bali Jatra ground in Cuttack at 2:30 PM.

The launch event will witness the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling. Three Union Ministers from Odisha – Jual Oram, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Ashwini Vaishnaw – will also grace the occasion.

District-level celebrations and participation from 1,405 primary healthcare centres (PHCs) via video conferencing will mark the state-wide launch. The scheme is expected to benefit around 3.5 crore individuals from 1.3 crore families, offering Rs 5 lakh insurance per family annually, with an additional Rs 5 lakh exclusively for women. Beneficiaries will be eligible for free, cashless treatment at 29,000 empanelled government and private hospitals across India.
