Talsara MLA files nomination for Odisha Deputy Speaker

Bhubaneswar, July 23: On Tuesday, Bhabani Shankar Bhoi, the MLA representing the Talsara constituency in Sundergarh district, submitted his nomination for the position of Deputy Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. He filed his papers at the office of the Assembly Secretary.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in Odisha has endorsed Bhoi for the Deputy Speaker role. His nomination was presented in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singhdeo and Pravati Parida, and several other ministers.

Bhoi, who is seeking a second term as MLA, was initially elected in 2019 and was re-elected in the 2024 polls on a BJP ticket. In the recent elections, he secured victory over Binaya Kumar Toppo of the BJD by a margin of 17,189 votes.
