Odisha Chief Minister launches CM-KISAN Yojana during Nuakhai

Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi today introduced the CM-KISAN Yojana during the Nuakhai festival in Sambalpur. This new scheme is designed to offer financial aid to farmers excluded from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana.
Under the CM-KISAN Yojana, eligible farmers will receive Rs 4,000 annually in two installments. The first installment of Rs 2,000 was distributed on Nuakhai, with the second installment of Rs 2,000 scheduled for Akshaya Tritiya. The launch event was attended by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, local MLAs, and departmental Secretaries. Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida participated via videoconference.
Additionally, Majhi unveiled the Krushak Odisha Unified Portal at Gangadhar Meher University. The scheme will provide landless farmers with Rs 12,500 in three installments, but they must register through the CM-KISAN Grievance Portal to be included. Registration for the CM-KISAN Yojana will remain open for the next two months, with a total of Rs 925.40 crore allocated for 45,97,036 beneficiaries.
