World Heart Day observed at SUMUM
Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: An awareness program for patients and staff was held at SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) on Friday in anticipation of World Heart Day, which was observed on September 29.
The program was chaired by Brig. (Dr.) Biraj Mohan Mishra, Chief of Medical Services, and featured insights from key medical professionals including Dr. P.K. Panda, Medical Superintendent, and cardiologists Dr. Sarat Kumar Sahoo, Dr. Banabihari Mishra, Dr. Bibhutendra Mohanty, and Dr. Sunil Mishra.
Brig. (Dr.) Mishra praised the efforts of the Cardiac Sciences department, while Dr. Sahoo emphasized the importance of maintaining heart health through diet, exercise, adequate sleep, managing comorbidities, and regular medical check-ups. Dr. Banabihari Mishra discussed the effective management of cardiac emergencies, and Dr. Mohanty highlighted the harmful effects of tobacco on heart health.
