Odisha athletes receive Rs 15 lakh boost ahead of Paris Olympics

Bhubaneswar, July 8: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday announced a Rs 15 lakh incentive for ace javelin thrower Kishore Jena and hockey star Amit Rohidas, who are set to represent Odisha in the Paris Olympics. Official sources stated that this financial reward is intended to motivate the state's talented athletes.
The Chief Minister expressed his hope that this incentive will inspire and energize both Jena and Rohidas, encouraging them to deliver outstanding performances at the upcoming Olympics.
Majhi highlighted the significance of the Olympics as a premier sports event, noting that by qualifying, Jena and Rohidas have brought pride to their hometowns and to all of Odisha.
