Odisha revises allowances for Fire & Emergency Services personnel

Bhubaneswar, Feb 4: The Odisha government has announced a revision in allowances for Fire & Emergency Services personnel across different ranks. According to an official notification issued on Tuesday, these revisions had been under review for some time and have now been approved.
Under the new guidelines, House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided to Firemen, Havildars, and equivalent ranks who are staying in barracks and have not been allotted government quarters. The HRA will be determined based on their place of posting, irrespective of their actual deployment, in line with other state government employees.
The Special Diet Allowance for Firemen, Havildars, and equivalent ranks has been increased from ₹900 to ₹1,400 per month.
The Motorcycle/Mobility Allowance, previously granted only to Station Officers and Assistant Fire Officers, has now been extended to Assistant Station Officers and equivalent ranks. The allowance has also been raised from ₹300 to ₹1,050 per month. Additionally, the General Mobility Allowance for Firemen, Havildars, and equivalent ranks has been increased from ₹150 to ₹300 per month.
Furthermore, the Risk Allowance for personnel from the rank of Fireman up to Assistant Fire Officer has been enhanced from ₹400 to ₹1,000 per month.
These revised allowances will take effect immediately from the date of the notification, benefiting fire service personnel across Odisha.
