Four reserve police suspended after violent altercation in Nayagarh

Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nayagarh district, Odisha, has taken decisive action by suspending four Reserve Police personnel due to their alleged misconduct in a public setting.
The incident occurred on December 31 when two factions of police officers became embroiled in a heated dispute while discussing the printing of a card on Trinath Bazaar Road in Nayagarh town.
As the argument intensified, the situation escalated into violence, with the officers physically assaulting one another in front of onlookers. The public nature of the altercation drew significant attention, prompting both groups of officers to file complaints against each other at the Nayagarh police station later that day.
Given the serious nature of their behavior and the impact it had on public perception, SP Nayagarh suspended the four officers involved for their dereliction of duty and misconduct. The suspended personnel include Sanjay Mahapatra, Muna Behera, Dillip Behera, and Durga Madhav Dora, according to sources.
