Law Minister announces delay of Dhadi Darshan trial at Puri Jagannath Temple
Bhubaneswar, Dec 26: Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan announced on Thursday that the state government has canceled the trial run of the proposed ‘Dhadi Darshan’ queue management system at the Puri Jagannath Temple, which was initially set for the end of December.
The decision was made in response to the significant influx of devotees visiting the historic temple. Originally, the Odisha government aimed to introduce the Dhadi Darshan system to improve the spiritual experience for devotees, with plans to begin its implementation on January 1, 2025, following trial runs.
However, due to the anticipated high number of visitors during December and early January, Harichandan stated that the rollout of Dhadi Darshan would now take place between January 20 and 22.
“After today's meeting, we concluded that the Dhadi Darshan trial run should be canceled due to the large crowd expected at the temple during this busy period. We will instead implement the system in the third week of January, following the ‘ganga snan ritual,” Harichandan informed the press.
As a result, the trial for the Dhadi Darshan initiative has been completely abandoned.
