Odisha CM launches Rs 1.15 lakh crore industrial projects in Jajpur, promises 36,000 jobs

Bhubaneswar, May 22: In a major push to accelerate industrial development in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 24 industrial projects in Jajpur district, drawing a combined investment of ₹1.15 lakh crore. The projects are expected to generate around 36,000 direct employment opportunities, reinforcing the state’s emergence as a national industrial hub.
The ceremony saw the presence of Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Textiles, Handlooms & Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Balsamant, Jajpur MP Rabindra Narayan Behera, and several industry leaders. A crowd of over 20,000 people gathered to witness the landmark event.
Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi described the occasion as a historic moment for Odisha, emphasizing the rapid progress made within just 113 days of the Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave 2025.
The projects, spread across Kalinganagar, Danagadi, and Badachana, will focus on sectors such as steel, chemicals, solar energy, ferro alloys, automotive components, warehousing, food processing, and refractory materials—further cementing Kalinganagar’s reputation as a vital industrial corridor.
The Chief Minister hailed the initiative as a turning point for a self-reliant and opportunity-rich Odisha, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for economic transformation.
