Son allegedly stabs father to death in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, July 3: In a tragic incident on Wednesday, a fatal altercation occurred at a residence in Rangamatia, Bhubaneswar, resulting in the death of Sunil Choudhury, a retired Nalco officer, allegedly stabbed by his son, Anirudh Choudhury, a professor at a Law College.

\Reports indicate that the dispute escalated early in the morning, leading Anirudh to fatally stab his father during a heated argument. Sunil succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital. Following a tip-off, Mancheswar police responded swiftly, securing the crime scene and initiating an investigation. Anirudh was subsequently detained for questioning.

Neighbors recounted that Anirudh, despite his legal profession, acted impulsively in the heat of the moment. Deputy Commissioner of Police Prateek Singh highlighted initial findings suggesting financial stress as a possible motive, with Anirudh allegedly seeking money from his father to settle debts, a request that led to the deadly confrontation.
