Odisha to release final phase of Rs 5,000 under Subhadra Yojana by March 2025

Bhubaneswar, Nov 26: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida today announced that the final phase of the first instalment of Rs 5,000 for women beneficiaries under the Subhadra Yojana will be released on March 7, 2025. Parida, who oversees the Women and Child Welfare Development portfolio, also confirmed that the second instalment of the scheme will be disbursed on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025.
Parida mentioned that 2.67 lakh applications had errors, 22% of which have been rectified. The review of the list of ineligible beneficiaries is ongoing, and physical verifications will be carried out. Eligible beneficiaries will receive the first instalment in the coming year.
She urged beneficiaries not to rush to banks if the money hasn't been credited to their accounts. For cases of Aadhaar-ration card mismatches, the authorities will contact applicants, and payments will be processed once the Aadhaar number is linked to their bank account. The scheme will remain open until all eligible women receive their benefits, with those registering now expecting payments by February.
In response to tribal women from Bonda Ghati in Malkangiri district being excluded from the scheme, Parida directed officials to ensure they are covered through local visits.
To date, 80 lakh women have benefited from the scheme. The third phase of the first instalment was issued to 20 lakh women on November 24, with earlier phases benefiting around 60 lakh women. The government’s goal is to extend the scheme to over 1 crore women across the state.
