SOA alumna Sonam Das named top hospitality leader in the Middle East

Bhubaneswar, May 30: Sonam Das, a distinguished alumna of the School of Hotel Management (SHM) within the faculty of hospitality and tourism management at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA), has been honored as one of the exceptional leaders in the hospitality industry in the Middle East for the year 2024.

A member of the SHM's 2012 graduating class, Das has recently been recognized as one of Hospitality's Top 30 Housekeeping Leaders in the Middle East for 2024. This prestigious accolade was bestowed upon her at an esteemed event hosted by hospitality.com, celebrating the outstanding achievements of leaders who have made significant contributions to the hospitality sector.

With 11 years of dedicated experience, Das embarked on her professional journey with Hyatt Hotels in 2012, following her graduation from SHM where she earned a gold medal. From her initial role as a Supervisor at Marriot Hotels during its pre-opening phase in Dubai in 2017, she steadily progressed to her first managerial position with Hyatt Hotels before assuming her current role as Housekeeping Manager at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.

Throughout her career, Das has embraced a philosophy of continuous learning and team engagement, recognizing growth as an ongoing journey. Even during her college days, she actively participated in various activities, honing her soft skills, showcasing leadership acumen, and demonstrating a commitment to personal growth beyond academics.
